  Forest floors in the tropical rainforest are home to this blood-sucking creature. Leech socks are essential to avoid becoming a victim.
• Long Trousers
  For walking or trekking activities, this will be hopeful to protect against leeches and mosquitoes.
• Long Sleeve Shirts
  Protection against mosquitoes and sun bear, especially when you do outdoor activity.
• Waterproof Bag
  Forest climate is unpredictable and harsh. This bag is handy for valuable items such as your passport, wallet and camera.
• Raincoat
  Rain or shine; our activties will continue as usual. Bring along a pair to keep you dry through the tropical downpour.
• Sunscreen
  While a little sun exposure is good for us, too many UV rays can be hazardous. Protect yourself from not just sunburn and dehydration.
• Insect Repellents
  Essential when travelling in tropical countries with a risk of Dengue, Malaria, Chikungunya, and Yellow Fever. Products with concentrations around 10% DEET are effective for short periods of two hours, and as the concentrations increases, same also the duration of protection.

Is Tourism Tax included in my tour?
No Tourism Tax is not included in your tour. Tourists will be charged with the tourism tax, which is RM10 per night per room for foreign passport holders.
How do I pay the Tourism Tax ?
You can pay your Tourism Tax during Check-Out via cash or credit card.

Is it possible to only book the rooms without going on tour?
Sorry! For now we sell our packages including the tour. It's alright to be hesitant about the tour, you can ask us any questions in the enquiry form if you have any.
Is Utan Rainforest Lodge suitable for families with small children?
Yes! The activities in the tour packages that includes river cruises, trail walk, and night drive is toddler friendly. We also have fun activities that they are able to do in the common room!

In case of an emergency, where is the nearest medical facility?
There are 3 clinics that are available in TRL area are:

• Poliklinik opens from 8am to 5pm (30km from TRL)
• Klinik Ung Cenderawasih opens for 24 hours (30km from TRL)
• Klinik Kesihatan Kencana operates only for emergencies (on call only)
